If you want to show someone why smartphones will never make cameras obsolete, you can just take a picture in RAW format and load it into Exposure. It places a vast array of controls at your disposal, which you can use to make any digital photo look ten times better. Its functionality resembles that of other advanced editors, like Photoshop, but it is focused more on RAW images.

The software is free to try for a limited period of time, but without any functional restrictions. Downloading its setup file and installing its core components takes a few minutes, but the operation doesn't involve any confusing settings. Also, you don't have to meet any special requirements and you don't need powerful hardware to run the program.

There are countless controls on the user interface, all arranged around the central preview area. The good news is that all controls are quite intuitive and self-explanatory. The left side of the interface is where you will find a file explorer, which allows you to import images quickly and easily, as well as a huge amount of special effect presets. They are neatly categorized in collapsible structures, they appear as thumbnails and you can preview their effects by simply hovering with the mouse cursor over them.

The right side of the user interface consists mainly of sliders and lots of them. Just like on the left side, they are all well organized in several collapsible structures. The sliders can be used to adjust the picture's basic characteristics, like exposure, contrast or temperature, as well as other things, like level of detail, colors, focus, grain and much more. Of course, there are other tools to be found among the sliders, such as a tone curve.

It has to be said, that Exposure's is quite comfortable to use. Regardless of what you intend to do, you won't have to spend any time looking around and trying to find specific options or going through a thick layer of menus. Everything is placed right in front of you and you won't encounter any kind of difficulties.

Any adjustments you wish to make on your RAW photos can be made quickly and effortlessly with Exposure.

Pros

The software's controls are very well organized and easy to understand. The software lets you perform numerous adjustments. Also, it provides you with a huge amount of effect presets.

Cons

There are no obvious design flaws or functionality gaps to address.
